Sorry, you won't be able to download any Adobe trials until July 1. Any legit site that shows Adobe trial downloads is just going to point you back to Adobe, and the reason no downloads are available until July 1 is there is a bug in the trial installer that makes anything installed in June work for only 1 day instead of 30 days. So Adobe decided to just stop allowing downloads rather than try to fix the bug.
This is a mess I know, but you will have to let that person know what is going on. Yes, it may be a headache for you, but honesty is always a good way to go.

Hey man, I had been having the same problem as you, because Premiere 2.0 doesn't work on Vista.

what is the file extension?
(if the file xtension isn't visible, you can choose to display it from Tools>Folder options of wnxp explorer)
if the xtension is .torrent, it is just a representation of a downloadable file. you will need utorrent or a similar file sharing software to use it.
if the xtension is .rar, you will need winrar.
utorrent is free & winrar is shareware i think. just google it
