Questions about Cd-R Burner:

  1. Does any one know where I can download a CD Burner for my CD-R? 2009-10-07 17:02:00

Sounds like you have a bad CD-R in your burner. With trying that many programs one of them should have worked. Have you treid another CD? If nothing else works download.com has bunch of stuff but "nero" is a pretty good one. It lets you do data, audio, and other things with it. I think there is a trail period for that one.

Another thing you can try is putting a music CD or game in your burner and see if it reads it. If it doesn't read it then your burner probably went out. If it does read it then just try another CD-R that you know for sure is blank.

You can shrink it to 2 VCDs, or AutoGK it to 700 MB AVI files. It's up to you.

If your DVD+R burner was working before now and you have not touched the IDE or SATA cables that connects it, then your problem is not that of cable connection. There are two options or perhaps a third option that could be the problem.

The first one is the easiest, to solve, your lens can become dirty. All you have to do in this case is just for you to get a len cleaner and clean out the lens. If this is the problem your burner should work fine.

The second situation is that, every burners' life span is dependent on the number of CD or DVD that is burnt, if your have exceeded this number, your hardware wears out and you will have no option than to change the DVD+R drive itself. Furthermore, the CD/DVD reader head can become bad, you still have to chnage your DVD drive because of this problem.

Finally, the problem can be caused by reasons which include, you unplugging, the IDE or SATA cables while the DVD drive is working. This could cause a physical problem to your drive and in such a case it means changing the whole CD/DVD+R drive.

I have had this experience before.
