Is the Chaos Daemons Codex for Warhammer 40k a supplement for Chaos Space Marines Codex it's own army or both? 2008-07-02 15:06:15
thesedays, there are two seperate chaos armys chaos deamons and chaos marines. while they cannot take each others forces by medium of allys, they can still fight together in many "doubles" tournements.
Deamons, both greater and lesser, are still available in the chaos space marine codex, however they are just generic "summoned" deamons and dont keep any special rules like their codex :chaos deamons counterparts.
The only link between the two is the deamon prince, who appears in the HQ section of the chaos space marines list and heavy support in the deamons list. GW only put it their cause they stocked up the HQ section already with "heralds" according to WD.
since you bought the grinder, thats not so bad, its a trully awsome model if i do say so myself. you could use it as an excuse to start a deamon army, or might use it with the "count as" rule to use it as a defiler, since they are similar in size

Good paint job: same price as unpainted.
Average: 2/3rds of unpainted.
Below average: 1/2.
Poor with "melt damage" from polystyrene cement: 1/10th value.
If they are painted to a serious expert standard they can sell for high prices but generally people won't pay much for painted miniatures that don't exactly match the look of their existing army. A complete army will sometimes (not always) sell very well as do individual character models like commanders.
Well, marks have changed. a lot of point cost changes. Oblits are now heavies. Demon princes cant have demon weapons anymore. No more nurglings. basically everything was streamlined and made easier to build your army faster. Raptors rock, khorne is still tough, thousand suns are nice and ahriman is a beast. If you plan on playing the game again go spend the 20 bucks and get the dex becaus the old one phases out of tournament play at the end of this month. If your looking to unload any figures e-mail me and lets do some dealing because I am making a new chaos force.
