   A total format might do the trick but over time as I have noticed my total free space will slowly go to zero.
   
   So what I do I go up down Windows Explorer looking around. Some programs will uninstall but the folder won't delete itself. If you upgrade to a service pack, Windows will keep a backup folder in case you want to uninstall. That weighs around 200-300 MB and you can delete that. Microsoft Office [2007 for me] keeps a folder in case you want to install a new office component without getting the CD.
   Then I have files I put away in a temporary folder and totally forget about it.
   I find podcasts (on iTunes for that matter) take up a lot of space expecially when you have a lot video.
   
   The simplest solution I have done is get another hard drive. I put it in a USB enclosure and place my music and videos and whatever files I want to offload from the main computer there.

   empire earth 2, age of empires 3, black and white 2, and that's about it. i have almost every game you listed and many more, most of the games the "walls" (mainly in civ and total war games) are just addons to citys.
   
   P.S. Supreme commander IS the best RTS ;) (not #2... only supreme commander: forged alliance)
