    3) IE can't be removed, as it's an integral part of Windows. The best you can do is to "repair" the installation, or to try to roll it back to a previous version. If your intent is to use Firefox rather than Internet Explorer, then just leave IE as is and don't bother using it ever again.

    4) You don't need to worry about IE versions if you're going to be using Firefox from now on.

    5) Nope. That error message is generic and could be caused by any of a dozen things. Not having version 7 is not one of them (unless you like conspiracy theories).

    You have the correct version. The "r23" is the same as the "0.023".

    Adobe package their products with other things from time to time. Recently when I updated, it didn't offer the Google Toolbar but rather a Photoshop Starter edition trial instead. Just one way they push products. I never accept the added "freebie" and only download what I want.
