    You apparently don't have proper smtp settings. You need to get that info from the help section on your mail providers site. That being said, outlook is a good way to not only infect your PC but download every drop of spam and BS you get. ALL that crap ends up in YOUR PC! A wise man leaves it on his mail server where it can do no harm and only downloads what he wants to keep.

    Go into your old Outlook Express client. In there, go to tools, accounts. Go to the properties of your POP account. Go to the "Advanced" tab. Uncheck the box "leave a copy of messages on server". Do a send/receive from Outlook Express to make sure the server clears out the old messages. Then turn off Outlook Express, and connect using Outlook. Outlook will now only get your new messages.
