    Yeah, internet explorer isn't the best way to go anymore, like what the others said, Firefox has a built in Google bar, and Google chromes URL bar doubles as a search engine.

    Yes, I think there are some solutions. Simply bring the Google Toolbar installer to your workplace, and install it. If you have home FTP, you can even download it from home while you work. But possible, that you don't have rights to install programs on your work machine. In that case, you need to be smarter. You have to bring the installed toolbar, maybe even your browser settings. Certainly, you will have to modify the system registry. Just look up the appropriate registry keys at home, and save them to a reg file, and add it in your work computer.
    Anyway I don't understand what's your employer's problem with Google Toolbar.

    I don't know for sure, but I have heard that the IE 7 is still with problems, you can download Mozilla FireFox for free and it never locks up like IE and it has safer features.
