    After installing cute pdf writer it creates an icon in the printers menu which you can see in File > print menu from within a text document that you want to convert as a pdf. Then all you have to do is open the document, then print it as File > print > use Cutepdf as a pritnter. It appears a bit strange, but the pdf conversion is done through print menu.
