    You most likely have adware. Virus, Spyware, Trojans, and Adware all do different things and you need different tools to get rid of them.

    A Virus gets in your computer to destroy data or steal data. Spyware is used to collect information about what sites you visit and what programs you use. Trojans get in to control your computer. (Typically to spam websites.) Adware infects your computer for the purpose of showing you advertisements.

    I recommend Ad-Aware 2007. It's a simple, free program that works better at this problem than most any other.

    I should note. You still may get pop-up ads on Opera. I don't know if you have ad-blocking on Opera or not. However, they will be regular popups meant to be opened by the site you are visiting. That doesn't sound like the problem you have having though.

    Instead of doing competitions, if you have are a dramatic coloratura you have an edge on the market because yours is a rare voice type. Try getting involved with a young artist program like Merola in San Francisco.
