    My husband and I have used Picasa for years on both PCs and laptops (Dell currently). I do not know how it would run on an older PC, but we have found it really easy to use: edit photos, add captions, put into files, download from digital camera or internet. My only reservation comes from a few of the "updates" in the latest version that seem to make putting photos into just one file difficult. We are very happy with the program, which can do slide shows very easily too.

    Picasa works great all by itself, but if you want another Picnik like program, then try Fotoflexer an online editor with quite a few features and decorations.
