  1. Comcast claims not to be blocking P2P traffic, but Utorrent port checker claims the port is not forwarded. 2007-12-11 16:52:09

I use uTorrent. I followed the port forwarding directions on portforwarding.com to make sure everything was done properly. I chose a non-standard port that wasn't the default port for uTorrent, just in case the ISP blocked that. Mine works fine. I'm currently also a MD Comcast user, so I know this method works.

If you're still having an issue, make sure that if you have another firewall, that the port you choose is open. If you still have issues, open ports for both UDP and TCP. Also, check to see if you have a built-in firewall on your modem (not likely, but there may be a NAT or something).

If you do this all right, you should be able to get the greenlight for your open port. Even without an open port, some leechers/peers are still able to download files, but it because difficult to start an initial seed.

    Hope this works for you.

  1. How do I forward µTorrent ports on a D-Link DIR-615? 2009-10-22 15:08:45

Use the command line to test the port forwarding. You'll need to forward a range - ex. 45682 to 45782, this will provide enough open ports for the P2P Users.

Use the NETSTAT command in a CMD prompt to see the port traffic.

  1. How Do I get uTorrent P2P port open? 2009-02-26 14:03:12

You really should turn on the encryption option. It helps with ports being blocked/throttled. To answer your question though, yes, a Siemens Speedstream requires you to open the ports. Go to this page, scroll down to where it says Siemens and find your model and click on its link. This will wake you to a page with a walk through of how to open the ports.
