You should not be posting your question here. It's highly unlikely you would get a good answer that would help you. You can go to Wilders security forums the have a section that deals with Eset problems, and some very knowledgeable people helping there.

Nothing you said sounds like an infection, Even if you where, there's nothing in your question to point to that. See what I mean about unlikely to get a good answer here.
Or go to Eset support page and email them. They will also give you good information there.

How to stop ESET Smart Security 4. 2009-11-01 19:42:01
open up your ESET
set your display from STANDARD MODE to ADVANCED which can be found on the bottom left corner
okay now go to TOOLS then click on SCHEDULER
Deselect the Regular automatic update and Automatic update after dial-up connection options. (1st and 2nd one)
then done ^.^
check the source to look at pics if you dont understand
Only Norton and AVG have that facility built in to their internet security.
But this is not a problem as most people use one of these two programs
which do exactly the same thing. Web of Trust or Siteadvisor.
I personally use Web of Trust ( WOT ) with Eset Smart Security.
Some people use both but i find one is enough...Both are Free.
