The only way you can keep everything is to put it on your computer. However, Steve Jobs does not approve of this so and will not let you do it legally. The only way you can do this is to purchase a program called Ipod to Computer Transfer. The programs is simple and works quite well. I'm forgot how much it costs either 10 or 20$ and i'm going to lean to the 10$ with like a 5$ option if you want to back up your purchase in case you restore your computer (virus/worms etc.) There are other programs out there but I found Ipod to Computer Transfer to be the easiest to use.
