    No, you can't. As you already wrote, you need a DS, DS lite, or a DSi with the firmware 1.3 or bellow. You have to copy the "ak2ifw_update_14_DSi.nds" on your acekard and run this application, but you can't on a DSi firmware 1.4.
    Try to find a friend who has an old DS so you can make the update.

    Edit: If you have a DS lite, update the Acekard on the DS lite running the patch "ak2ifw_update_14_DSi.nds" and then you'll be able to use it on your DSi. Have Fun!
