    I'm curious about this as well. From some of the research I've done into this, the ability to use a 32bit key on a 64bit Vista install may be tied to Retail only versions (see link below). From the same link:

    "If you bought Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, or Business as a retail, packaged product, and you would like a DVD of 64-bit software media to install on your PC, please choose your language:"

    I'm curious if this applies to OEM copies since my desktops are all 64bit systems but came with a 32bit OS. I installed 4 GB of RAM (knowing only about 3.25 would be usable). If upgrading to 64bit won't cost me anything (other than maybe a media set at a low cost), I may consider upgrading.

    OK, did a bit more research into this and found another link you might want to read. I haven't thoroughly researched this yet for legality but will try to work my way through it over the next few evenings.

    You can go to Programs and Features in the Control Panel, then click show updates, then find IE 8 in the list. After you uninstall that, it should revert to IE 7. But why would you want to do all that?

    I'd suggest forgetting about that and use Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or Safari as they are all safer than any version of IE can be.
