Well, there is some good news for you, ethernet is ethernet, so ANY ethernet cable should be just fine to connect to a router, switch, etc within your location. If you want to be sure its the highest speed cable use a CAT 6 cable. Nearly all CAT 5 cables are now CAT5E which is actually the same speed as 6 at short distances but either of those will work fine. The other thing you need to know is HOW LONG do you need it? That is just the distance from your computer to the "other end".
If you intend to connect directly to another computer, and not use a router/switch/modem, then you need a "crossover" cable. Those aren't used alot but are needed for SOME computer to computer connections.
PS if you mean what kind of adapter do you need, you need an ethernet adapter. The one you listed is NOT ethernet it is a software driver.
The term Miniport usually does not refer to
hardware (your physical computer ports). It is a term used by device driver writers to designate a level or layer of device driver operation. You may see that on a USB connection but you shouldn't see it on an ethernet connection!
You need to see if your computer has a standard ethernet port (8 pin phone jack looking connector) if it does you connect the 4100 to that jack with a standard ethernet cable.
Since the 4100 is NOT your computer we have no way of knowing what you need in your computer. Most computers have ethernet these days.
